The San Diego Padres just don’t want to stop winning. They overcame a three-run deficit to beat the Cleveland Guardians 7-5 on Friday night
This win extends their winning streak to six games and into a National League wild-card spot.

Cleveland’s Brayan Rocchio homered with two outs in the second inning and Nathaniel Lowe added an RBI single in the next at-bat to give Cleveland a 3-0 lead.
But the Padres recovered. In the fourth, Xander Bogaerts turned on a sweeper and sent it out for a two-run homer to cut the deficit to one.
And in the fifth, Fernando Tatis Jr. opened the scoring with a solo shot to left field to tie the game, and with the bases loaded, Luis Campusano drilled a double to right field that scored two more runs, per Yahoo Sports.
And just like that, San Diego was in front.
Bogaerts also drove in three runs as Cleveland rallied with single runs in the sixth and eighth but it wasn’t enough. Bradgley Rodriguez came in and slammed the door in the ninth for his first career save, whiffing three in a row following a leadoff double.
Mike King pitched six innings on the mound for San Diego to earn the win. The Padres have won 16 of their last 20, while the Guardians have lost five of six and still have struggled
