The Miami Heat uploaded a link of a live stream scheduled as “LeBron James Introductory Press Conference,” which is followed by the date July 27 on its YouTube channel, as per mistake, according to a team spokesperson.
As reported by Shams Charania of ESPN, the mistake was made by the social media department of the team while preparing for the possible signing of James. The link was later taken down.
This is the first time in four years that LeBron James becomes an unrestricted free agent, and the player has been deliberating on his next move.
As per sources close to the star, apart from Heat, other teams such as the Cleveland Cavaliers and Philadelphia 76ers are the favorites, but the Golden State Warriors are also reportedly interested in the star.
Yankee Scores reported on Tuesday that LeBron James’ agent, Rich Paul of Klutch Sports, said the basketball superstar will not be rushed into choosing a team to play for next NBA season.
He said teams looking to sign James are free to wait until later on without taking any action towards changing his mind in regard to the matter.
Paul further stated that the teams have contacted him again to see if there was something else they needed to do while James makes his decisions and he told them that they did not have to do anything.
Heat President Pat Riley had said last week that himself and new star player Giannis Antetokounmpo would welcome LeBron in Miami.
James, who is going into his 24th season, won two NBA titles during his four seasons with the Heat.
