The Falcons may have just bolstered their squad as linebacker Deangelo Malone returns. Yankee scores reports
The Falcons made the announcement on Wednesday but did not disclose any term of the deal.
Malone Pedigree
A native of Atlanta, Deangelo Malone was drafted by the Falcons in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft. He had completed a five-year career at Western Kentucky, where he compiled 34 sacks. In his four NFL seasons, Malone has become a standout special teams player and produced several splash plays on defense when called upon. Despite possessing a Swiss-Army-Knife skillset, defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich sought a more refined approach to developing Malone last season.
Malone was a 2022 third-round pick in Atlanta. He played in 58 games before an ankle injury ended his 2025 season. All of his defensive appearances have come as a reserve and Malone has played a core special teams role throughout his time with the team.
Malone has 59 tackles, three sacks, and an interception over the course of his career.
This development ensued with Kyle Pitts extension looming and the possibility of drafting Michigan’s Marlin Klein for 2026.
