The Jacksonville Jaguars are preparing for a season unlike any other, and fans will want to keep their eyes on what’s coming next. Yankee Scores reports.
Orlando Becomes the Jaguars’ Home
NFL owners have unanimously approved the Jaguars’ plan to play their 2027 home schedule in Orlando at Camping World Stadium. The temporary relocation comes as EverBank Stadium undergoes a $1.4 billion transformation. Orlando, about 140 miles south of Jacksonville, will host the team for one season while construction continues.

Team president Mark Lamping expressed confidence in the decision, saying: “Following the comprehensive evaluation of our 2027 season playing options, we are pleased that the NFL and NFL owners unanimously agree that Orlando is the location that best meets the needs of the Jaguars, our 2027 opponents, and the National Football League.”
Stadium of the Future
Work has already begun on the ambitious project to remake EverBank Stadium into the “Stadium of the Future.” The renovations will feature a transparent canopy designed to reduce heat retention by more than 70 percent, redesigned concourses with new bars and food areas, and lookout spaces offering sweeping views of Jacksonville.
Although capacity will be limited during the 2026 season, the Jaguars will continue to play at EverBank before shifting to Orlando in 2027. The project is expected to be completed before the 2028 season.
Aiming for Major Events
The franchise believes the upgrades will position Jacksonville to host marquee events such as the Super Bowl, Final Four, and College Football Playoff games. The city last welcomed the Super Bowl in 2005, when the New England Patriots defeated the Philadelphia Eagles 24-21 in Super Bowl XXXIX.
A Temporary Step Toward the Future
While the move to Orlando is temporary, the Jaguars see it as a vital step toward elevating Jacksonville’s profile on the national stage. Lamping added: “This temporary relocation is a necessary and important step to facilitate the 2028 completion of Jacksonville’s Stadium of the Future. We are deeply grateful to our fanbase for their continued support, patience, and enthusiasm during this interim period.”
The 2027 season promises to be a unique chapter in Jaguars history, paving the way for a bold new era once the Stadium of the Future opens its doors.
