Jadeveon Clowney will be rejoining the Houston Texans, where he was chosen No. 1 in the 2014 NFL draft, Yankee Scores reports.
In a tweet shared by Ian Rapaport and Mike Garafolo on the NFL Network, Clowney revealed his agreement to sign a deal with Houston, explaining that he “has grown up and learned the game a lot more since I have been away” from Houston, where he last played in 2018.
“I feel like I can help the younger guys. I’ve learned how to lead and what it takes to get to a Super Bowl. I feel like I can help this team,” he told the newspaper.
The news of the reunion with the franchise followed a visit by Clowney to the Cleveland Browns last week. Speaking at a press conference, the Browns’ general manager Andrew Berry said he was hopeful that his team would reach an agreement with the pass rusher. Clowney stated in his tweet that he had received several offers from the teams interested in signing him.
With the addition of Clowney, who had a total of 8.5 sacks in 2025 with the Dallas Cowboys, including three in the season finale against the New York Giants, the defense of the Houston Texans will feature three of the NFL’s top pass rushers — Will Anderson Jr., who had 12 sacks in 2025 and made his first All-Pro team, and Danielle Hunter, who had 15 sacks and was voted to the second All-Pro team.
“… It was a really easy decision. It wasn’t about the money,” Clowney, who lives in Houston, told the newspaper.
