The New Orleans Saints and Dallas Cowboys got into it several times during their joint practice on Tuesday in Oxnard, California, with multiple outlets counting at least six separate fights between the two teams.
At least two of the scuffles involved multiple players from the Saints offense and Cowboys defense, with groups pushing and shoving down the sideline, ESPN reported.
Things got so heated that Cowboys coach Brian Schottenheimer and Saints coach Kellen Moore talked about ending the session early before it finally cooled down.
Saints linebacker Pete Werner said ahead of practice that he expected things to get chippy and quarterback Tyler Shough said both sides brought serious energy to the drills.

The most talked-about moment was when Saints rookie receiver Brock Rechsteiner, son of pro wrestler Scott Steiner, got into a scrap with Cowboys cornerback Caelen Carson before tossing safety Jalen Thompson to the ground with a suplex.

In another melee, Saints center Erik McCoy sent a Cowboys player’s helmet into the air before losing his own and swinging at linebacker Donovan Ezeiruaku.
What next
Neither team has announced discipline for any of the players involved. Cowboys safety Jalen Thompson acknowledged both teams were close to crossing the line, but blamed it on preseason competitiveness.
The two teams will meet again soon when the league starts as they wrap up their preseason schedules against each other on August 28
