Viktor Gyökeres is reportedly unhappy with the lack of trust in his ability to lead the attack at Arsenal.
The former Sporting CP striker is playing second fiddle to Kai Havertz and has not enjoyed much playing time this campaign.
Arsenal was linked with a few strikers in the last transfer window, including Atlético Madrid’s Julián Alvarez and Galatasaray’s Victor Osimhen.
The Swede is now ready to exit Arsenal as early as the January transfer window, TEAMtalk understands.
Frustration over a lack of Premier League starts has the £60m-plus striker weighing up his future at the Emirates.
The Sweden international joined from Sporting CP in 2025, after Arsenal picked him ahead of Benjamin Sesko. He went on to score 21 goals, 14 of them in the Premier League, in a title-winning season. But his limited chances under Mikel Arteta have left the 28-year-old questioning things just over a year after the big move. Sources tell TEAMtalk that intermediaries are already doing their due diligence on possible options for January.
Atlético Madrid are still interested, and Premier League clubs are also showing interest, with teams in Italy, Germany and Spain among the destinations being assessed. We understand Arsenal could be willing to let him go as they push ahead with plans to bring in another forward. With the player open to leaving and the club still keen to add attacking options, a January split could suit both sides.
It would end a move that took months to build. Arsenal spent months doing their homework on Gyökeres before Andrea Berta, who had just arrived as sporting director, signed it off, and Arteta made clear he wanted the striker in north London. The Gunners chose Gyökeres over Sesko, who later joined Manchester United.
