The Dallas Mavericks vs Charlotte Hornets clash brings two teams in very different form. Charlotte is surging with confidence, while Dallas continues to struggle with consistency and injuries.

Charlotte Hornets Riding Momentum

The Hornets are chasing a five‑game winning streak after four straight double‑digit victories. Brandon Miller has led the way, averaging 27.3 points across his last three outings. Coby White added 20 points in his first home game during Saturday’s 109‑93 win over Portland.

Miles Bridges praised the growing energy: “Every win, we’re getting closer to the postseason. The fans are showing up for us and we’re feeling the love.”

Dallas Mavericks Facing Challenges

Dallas has dropped three straight games and won only two of their last 15 since January 22. Cooper Flagg, who scored 49 points against Charlotte earlier this season, remains sidelined with a foot sprain. Klay Thompson could also miss time after leaving Sunday’s loss to Oklahoma City with an adductor injury.

The Mavericks have had a different leading scorer in each of their last five games. Caleb Martin posted 18 points most recently, while Khris Middleton continues to adjust after joining from Washington. Coach Jason Kidd emphasized Middleton’s veteran presence: “His ability to score and to lead is something that’s needed in that locker room.”

Previous Meeting Highlights

Charlotte edged Dallas 123‑121 on January 29 despite Flagg’s 49‑point explosion. Kon Knueppel scored 34 points for the Hornets, and the two former Duke stars combined to shoot 30‑for‑45 from the field.

Key Takeaways

  • Hornets have surged to a 14‑3 record since late January.
  • Mavericks are struggling with injuries and roster chemistry.
  • Charlotte’s depth and health give them a clear edge entering this matchup.

With Charlotte’s roster back in order and Dallas searching for answers, the Dallas Mavericks vs Charlotte Hornets showdown highlights two teams moving in opposite directions.
