Teen sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has won himself a car for his stellar performances during the Indian Premier League – but it’ll be another three years before he gets to use it, Yankee Scores reports.
The Greatest Schoolboy Campaign in Cricket History
Left-handed Sooryavanshi shone during this year’s IPL, managing to amass 776 runs from 16 innings at a strike rate of 237.30.
He won the ‘Most Valuable Player’ award for this year’s IPL even though his team Rajasthan Royals did not qualify for the finals.

Sooryavanshi also won the ’emerging player’ and the ‘Orange Cap’, which goes to the highest run-getter during an IPL season.
Keys to the SUV
One of the awards that Sooryavanshi received included a Tata Sierra, which is one of the most popular mid-sized SUVs in the country – but he can’t drive it since the minimum age for driving in the country is 18.
His total winnings from individual awards amounted to over £30,000, per NDTV.
On winning his awards, the India Under-19 international said: “It’s a proud moment, it feels great and I’ll try to do even better next season.”
Youngest-Ever
The 15-year-old player, Sooryavanshi, who is now the youngest to play in the IPL after making his debut with the Rajasthan team when he was just 14 years old last season, made 97 and 96 runs respectively in his last two matches in this year’s league.
Moreover, the player hit an outstanding 72 sixes, averaging more than four per match, 29 more than any other in the league.
Sooryavanshi had been signed by the Rajasthan franchise at this year’s auction for a sum of 1.1 crore rupees (£103,789).
On Sunday, the captain, Virat Kohli, took his team, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, to win their second consecutive title after beating Gujarat by five wickets in the finals in Ahmedabad.
