A Partnership That Surprises Everyone
Serena Williams, the 44-year- American tennis icon will play doubles with 19-year-old Victoria Mboko at the HSBC Championships at Queens Club in London.
The news surprised everyone in the tennis world, one of the reasons being that this partnership has a 25-year age gap.
Serena Williams got an invite to play in the doubles event which will her first pro match since the 2022 US Open.
Mboko Is Really Excited
Victoria Mboko shared her feelings on social media saying it’s an honour to play with one of the greatest athletes ever.
Mboko said a days ago at the French Open “Me and Serena have stayed in touch which is really nice because I really look up to her. The fact that she even knows me is very exciting.”
The 19-year-old is currently ranked No. 9 in the world is one of the best players on tour at the moment.

Serena Williams Wants to Win
When asked what she looks for in a doubles partner Serena Williams said, “I’m looking for someone that wants to win and can win. I guess that hasn’t changed.”
Serena Williams has won 14 doubles titles with her sister Venus. She is the only player to win a career Golden Slam in both singles and doubles and now she comes to Queens Club Championship to compete

The tournament runs from June 8 to 14 at the West Kensington venue. With Wimbledon coming up, everyone in the tennis world will be watching Serena Williams and Victoria Mboko play together.
