The deal is for one year and will be McClung’s first taste of professional basketball outside the NBA and G League.
McClung is no longer eligible for two-way contract and he and his agent spoke with NBA teams this offseason but no one was willing to commit. Girona, however, wants him to be the foundation of their franchise.
McClung is leaving the NBA after a five-year stint moving across five NBA teams and the G League, where he became the league’s all-time leading scorer and a two-time MVP.
Per Yahoo Sports, He averaged 31.8 points, 7.9 assists and 3.4 rebounds with Windy City last season before being called up to play some minutes with the Bulls.
He now travels to FIBA Europe Cup compatriots Girona to join recent acquisitions Stanley Whittaker and David N’Guessan on a roster poised for a breakout season.
