Liverpool are back in the Champions League quarter-finals for the first time since 2022 after a thrilling night at Anfield, Yankee Scores reports.

Arne Slot’s side overturned a first-leg deficit with a ruthless second-half blitz, setting up a mouthwatering clash with Paris St-Germain.

Szoboszlai Breaks the Deadlock

Trailing 1-0 from Istanbul, Liverpool levelled the tie when Dominik Szoboszlai finished off a clever set-piece routine. The Hungarian’s strike lifted the crowd, though Mohamed Salah’s missed penalty just before half-time kept nerves alive.

Galatasaray looked determined to slow the game down, but once Liverpool found their rhythm, the visitors had no answer.

Second-Half Rampage

Liverpool’s intensity after the break was relentless. Hugo Ekitike tapped in from Salah’s pinpoint pass, before Ryan Gravenberch doubled the advantage after Cakir parried Salah’s effort.

Minutes later, Salah produced a trademark curling finish from outside the box, becoming the first African player to reach 50 Champions League goals.

Galatasaray’s defence crumbled, and only Cakir’s saves prevented an even heavier defeat.

Slot’s Biggest Night Yet

This was arguably Liverpool’s most important performance of the season. After being booed off against Tottenham at the weekend, the players responded emphatically for both their manager and supporters.

As Aadam Patel reported from Anfield, “Liverpool looked like they were scoring at will in the second half.” Galatasaray, who had been promised a €5m bonus for victory, never came close.
