San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle and defensive end Nick Bosa will join the team when it travels to Australia on Wednesday to take on the Los Angeles Rams, sources told Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
While being activated off the physically unable to perform list on Aug. 23, Kittle is recovering from a torn right Achilles that occurred in the playoff game on Jan. 11 against Philadelphia Eagles.
Kittle will make the trip to Australia after having two positive practices and is trending toward playing in the first game of the season, sources said.
The #49ers leave today for their game vs the #Rams in Australia, and star TE George Kittle will make the trip after 2 positive days of practice, sources say. Kittle is trending in the right direction to play.

Despite the injury, Kittle, in the days following the injury, said that he would not miss much of the 2026 season due to the fact that the tear occurred further up his leg, which provides better circulation and facilitates recovery.
Bosa, who tore his ACL last September, missed most of training camp. He is ramping up with his knee, which was his third ACL surgery on the right knee.
The 49ers kick off their season by taking on the Rams in Melbourne, Australia on Sept. 10.
The San Francisco 49ers in July brought back the familiar face to the franchise in the form of wideout Deebo Samuel.
