Ezri Konsa is back at the Emirates after being sidelined of the last game of the extended international break against Czech Republic.
The England defender has not shown full fitness during this international break no thanks to a slight muscle injury.
Konsa missed training last week but played the entire 90 minutes against Croatia. However, the Arsenal defender had to leave the camp and head back to Arsenal for further assessment.
He reported back to Arsenal to get an idea about his fitness level, per Skysports.
“Ezri came into camp with discomfort,” said Thomas Tuchel. “Played against Spain which made it worse. He stayed in camp and tried everything for the match in Croatia and gave the green light.
“Unfortunately, he got another hit on the quad and it caused some light trauma. We decided to not let him play again through the pain. Nothing major but not worth taking the risk.”
Premier League action is back for Arsenal this Saturday when Leeds come calling to the Emirates at 12.30pm.
Meanwhile, Arsenal have had three defenders return from injury as the result of an international break, and these include Ben White, Piero Hincapie, and Cristhian Mosquera, all of whom have been seen training recently.
White and Mosquera were injured before the international break, but they are set to be fit after the break in Premier League action.
