Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso praised Man of the Match Cole Palmer, stressing that the Blues need his technical quality to restore their lost fortune.
Cole Palmer played like the man he used to be as he helped Xabi Alonso’s Chelsea make a winning start in the Premier League following a madcap 3-2 win against Fulham on Monday Night Football.
Palmer along with his fellow attacking players for Chelsea – Joao Pedro and Morgan Rogers – were indeed one of the most lethal attacking forces in the league after each of them scored in the game.

Alonso Lauds Chelsea’s Attack and Maturity
Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso waxed lyrical about the England playmaker while speaking to BBC Match of the Day following their 3-2 victory over Fulham.
“I have really enjoyed his [Palmer] performance. He has played with responsibility, with maturity but as well with freedom. It is very important for me that we get the best from Cole when he takes this role. He feels where he has to be involved and I am happy for him. If we want to have a good team and we need a great Cole.
“I think it was a professional performance. The game had different momentums. To win away in the Premier League is normally tough. We were prepared for that. Happy with the performance. It is a good first day.
Squad Utilization
“Great combination, great quality. We know if we reach them [Joao Pedro, Morgan Rogers & Cole Palmer] in good positions, they have this talent to create special things and I am very happy the three forwards have scored.
“It is still a process for sure. We need to keep working, analysing and improving. Every game is a lesson.”

“In football, I am not surprised by anything. We will see. My wish is that we know what will happen for the future but we will see this week.”
