Jalen Suggs will be out for at least two weeks with a mild bone bruise in his right knee, the Orlando Magic announced Monday.
The good news is that he avoided any major structural damage, and he’ll be reevaluated in two weeks.
The injury happened late in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s win over the New York Knicks, and no one else was involved. Suggs was on a breakaway with 2:09 left when his right knee appeared to buckle as he went up for a layup.
Jalen Suggs underwent an MRI, which revealed a mild right knee bone bruise. There was no other structural damage. He will be reevaluated in two weeks.

He stayed down for several moments in pain before being helped to his feet, then walked gingerly to the locker room with help from team personnel.
It’s a frustrating setback for a player who has struggled to stay healthy.
The fifth pick in the 2021 draft has averaged 12.6 points, 3.8 assists and 3.4 rebounds over his six-year career, but injuries over the last two years limited him to 92 games.
