Tottenham Hotspur have earned their first win of the season following a 3-1 win over newcomers Coventry.
Spurs were winless in their first six games, but after a week in the Marbella sunshine and a much-needed performance at home, there may be brighter skies ahead in N17.
James Maddison, making his first competitive start for Spurs since May 2025, announced his return in emphatic style. He curled an opener into the top corner against the club where his professional career began.

He was influential all night, linking up the £300m worth of players in Roberto De Zerbi’s squad who had previously looked disjointed and awkward. But Jack Rudoni’s equaliser four minutes into the second half punctured the positivity in the stadium.
The worry was a familiar one. No side has dropped more Premier League points from winning positions at home since the start of 2024/25 (30). Omar Marmoush put Spurs on course to avoid that again with his first goal for the club, a fine strike arrowed into the far corner. Then Kulusevski came on and the mood skyrocketed. Ben Davies rounded off the win with a surprise effort with the outside of his boot.
