Hawks’ incredible season

The Hawks won all four games against the Magic this season. They now have a 3 1/2 game lead over Orlando in the Southeast Division, with five games left for the Hawks and six for the Magic.

Jamal Cain scored 17 points off the bench for the Magic. Each of Desmond Bane and Wendell Carter Jr. scored 14 points.

Franz Wagner, a forward for the Magic, scored 12 points in 20 minutes in his first game since February 11. Wagner scored 23.4 points per game on 55% shooting in the Magic’s first 23 games, but he has missed 47 of the last 52 games because of a high ankle sprain.

The Hawks scored 47 points in the second quarter, hitting 17 of 24 shots, which opened up the game. Jonathan Kuminga’s three-pointer broke a 32-32 tie early in the quarter. Atlanta led the rest of the game, and the lead grew to 31 early in the second half.

Alexander-Walker scored 17 points during the period. He was one of six players who scored during a four-minute stretch when Orlando didn’t score.

With 7:30 left in the game and the Hawks leading 110-89, Magic center Goga Bitadze got a flagrant foul 2 (and was thrown out of the game) for pulling Hawks center Jock Landale down by the shoulder. Daniels got a technical foul for talking to Bitadze after the takedown.
