While the United States men’s national team gears up for the biggest tournament in Soccer history, the squad and head coach Mauricio Pochettino’s choices face scrutiny ahead of the World Cup, Yankee Scores reports.
In the last few months, Pochettino has been trying different combinations of players while dealing with injuries across the squad. There have been mixed performances from the players in their respective clubs.
While some younger players have impressed during camps, few of the experienced players have had difficult seasons in Europe.
Now, leaked reports of the team squad are beginning to circulate revealing some major calls by the Argentinian coach heading to the World Cup.
USMNT Roster Leaks Weeks Ahead of World Cup
As reported by the The Athletic’s Paul Tenorio and Tom Bogert, Real Salt Lake player Diego Luna has been left out of the 26-man roster, while Borussia Mönchengladbach midfielder Gio Reyna is expected to make the final USMNT World Cup squad despite inconsistency in performance for his club this season.

The attacking midfielder had become one of the most exciting names expected to make the list.
For Reyna, even with limited minutes in Germany, he remains one of the most technically gifted players in the US squad, and his inclusion shows Pochettino trusts the 23-year-old’s experience on the world stage.
Others names expected to be included in the squad includes Matt Turner, Brenden Aaronson, Mark McKenzie and Sebastian Berhalter.
