Rashee Rice Set for Release From Jail

A massive development out of Texas this Tuesday as Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice has officially been released from a Dallas County jail, Yankee Scores reports.

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice was let out of a Dallas County jail on Tuesday after being sentenced for thirty days for probation violation after being involved in an accident in which numerous people were injured while traveling on a Texas freeway.

Rice, 26 years, had been incarcerated in the jail on May 19 when he tested positive for THC.

Upon leaving the jail, Rice rushed through the few reporters in attendance towards an SUV that awaited him.

About a week prior to being sentenced to perform community service for clearing debris in his right knee, Rice underwent surgery. The judge granted Rice’s lawyers’ plea that he should be allowed to seek medical treatment from Parkland Hospital during his incarceration period.

Rice did not attend any of the Chiefs’ offseason voluntary activities and minicamp, which ended a few weeks back. However, head coach Andy Reid is hopeful that he will attend their upcoming training camp in mid-July, ESPN reported.

“[Chiefs trainer] Rick [Burkholder] has talked to him more than what I have,” Reid said, “just making sure that everything was set there where he could do some rehab with it and still do the time that he needed to take care of. So he’s on top of that, and thank goodness that they’re allowing him to do that. So, they’ve been great with that.”

The Chiefs are relying on Rice to contribute to an offense that has not performed well at times during their subpar 6-11 season performance last year.

Rice has made significant contributions when he’s been able to play, contributing 156 receptions for 1,797 yards and 14 touchdowns and helped the Chiefs win the Super Bowl in the 2023 season. However, he has sat out games due to suspensions and injuries, playing just 28 games in three seasons.
