Johnson is regarded as one of the top offensive lineman in the NFL and has been a rock along the Philadelphia offensive line since being selected fourth overall in the 2013 NFL Draft.
The six-time Pro Bowler and multiple-time All-Pro remains a key component of the Eagles’ championship chances heading into 2026.
NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reported this absence on Wednesday during the Eagles training
Johnson’s absence has not prevented the Eagles from rotating backup linemen at right tackle during training camp workouts as the coaching staff examines depth ahead of the preseason.
While his absence is noticeable, the team has not indicated that it’s due to injury and no schedule has been announced for his return.
Johnson has spoken in the past about taking time away from football to deal with personal issues, particularly his mental health, and has been well praised for pushing others to seek treatment when required.
The Eagles are preparing for the upcoming season, allowing one of their longest-tenured leaders the time and space to take care of his personal issue.
The club will not be updating Johnson’s progress until he is ready to rejoin the team.
