Detroit Lions linebacker Jack Campbell is still in hospital with a neck injury, but early signs for his recovery are positive.
The 26-year-old was hurt during Sunday’s game against the Minnesota Vikings. He hit his head while tackling tight end TJ Hockenson in the fourth quarter and lay face down on the ground. He received medical attention before being taken from the field on a stretcher.
Jack Campbell continues to rest and recover at a local hospital. Preliminary indications are positive and out of respect for Jack and his family we will not share further information at this time.

“Jack Campbell continues to rest and recover at a local hospital,” a Lions statement said.
“Preliminary indications are positive and out of respect for Jack and his family we will not share any further information at this time.”

Detroit won Sunday’s game 19-15 after play resumed following Campbell’s injury, BBC reported.
Campbell, picked by the Lions at No. 18 overall in the 2023 draft, signed a contract extension in May that runs through the 2030 season.
Injury Setback Hits Detroit Lions
Yankeescores reported in August that Cade Mays was having a tough start to his debut season in Detroit as the Lions center injured his wrist in training camp.
Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, head coach Dan Campbell said he would be sidelined for what he called “a significant” amount of time.
The timing is painful for the team as Detroit went out this off-season and signed Mays to a 3 year, $25 million deal just to strengthen the middle of their offensive line.
Now, just weeks before the regular season, they’re already having to figure out life without him.
The only good news is that the injury is not believed to be season-ending, meaning Mays should be back on the field at some point during 2026.
