The Oklahoma City Thunder are signing forward Ochai Agbaji to fill their open roster spot after major injuries to starting wings Jalen Williams and Cason Wallace.
Agbaji, 26, was the No. 14 pick in the 2022 draft and has averaged 7.2 points and 2.7 rebounds in 263 games, 108 of them starts, per ESPN.
The New York Knicks waived him in final roster cuts this month. He has played for three NBA teams in four years, splitting last season between the Toronto Raptors and Brooklyn

The injuries that created the opening both happened in Sunday’s win over the LA Clippers. Williams has a fractured fibula and dislocated left ankle, and Wallace has a torn labrum in his left shoulder.
Both need surgery and both will take several months to recover, though the Thunder haven’t ruled either out for the season.
Thunder Guard Cason Wallace Agrees to 5-Year Contract Extension
Yankee Scores reported that the the Thunder All-Defensive guard Cason Wallace has agreed to a five-year, $139 million rookie-scale extension.
The 22-year-old was the No. 10 pick in the 2023 draft and earned second-team All-Defensive honors last season. He averaged career highs of 8.6 points, 2.6 assists and 1.9 steals per game, and he led the NBA in total steals with 150.
The Thunder saw it coming. Wallace’s development and potential helped shape their decision to part with longtime starting wing Luguentz Dort, an elite perimeter defender, who was sent to the Atlanta Hawks in a cost-cutting trade this summer.
