The second and third rounds of the 2026 NFL Draft kept fans on edge. From surprise quarterback picks to value steals, Friday night delivered plenty of intrigue, Yankee Scores reports.
NFL Draft Day 1
Day one of the NFL Draft lived up to the hype, with the Raiders landing their franchise quarterback and Cleveland strengthening both the line and wide receiver room. Day two has already delivered its share of surprises, questionable calls, and bold moves, and the drama isn’t slowing down.
Browns Find Their Spark
Cleveland bounced back after a questionable first‑round move by landing Denzel Boston at No. 39. The 6‑foot‑4 receiver was the best available prospect and immediately upgrades a wideout group that struggled last season. Later, the Browns added safety Emmanuel McNeil‑Warren, a turnover machine, and traded up for tackle Austin Barber. While Barber was a slight reach, the overall haul gave Cleveland much‑needed talent.

Ravens Add Defensive Muscle
Baltimore struck gold with edge rusher Zion Young at No. 45. A first‑round talent still on the board, Young brings relentless energy and run‑stopping ability. Pairing him with Trey Hendrickson creates a dangerous duo. The Ravens also grabbed Ja’Kobi Lane, a tall receiver with red‑zone skills that Lamar Jackson will love, more options after resigning Zay Flowers.

Falcons Make Family History
Atlanta united brothers Avieon and A.J. Terrell in the same cornerback room, drafting Avieon at No. 48. Later, they added Zachariah Branch, a lightning‑quick playmaker with 4.35 speed who can stretch defenses and contribute as a returner.

Colts and Cardinals Address Needs
Indianapolis landed linebacker CJ Allen, a versatile defender who reads plays with precision, and followed with ball‑hawking safety A.J. Haulcy. Arizona shored up its line with Chase Bisontis, then took a flier on quarterback Carson Beck at No. 65. Beck’s deep‑ball touch and smart decision‑making make him an intriguing developmental option.
Steelers Take a Swing
Pittsburgh added Drew Allar in Round 3, a big quarterback with toughness and upside. He joins Germie Bernard, a reliable slot receiver, plus defensive depth in Daylen Everette and Gennings Dunker. The Steelers quietly built a balanced class.
Questionable Calls
Not every team impressed. The 49ers reached for De’Zhaun Stribling at No. 33 and doubled down with Romello Height and Kaelon Black, leaving better options on the board. Meanwhile, a run of tight ends saw multiple teams reach for prospects far below their value, raising eyebrows across the league.
Looking Ahead
With Day 2 complete, expect more surprises on Saturday as teams hunt for hidden gems to round out their draft classes.
