Sanders’ Growth

Drafted 144th overall in 2025, Sanders started the Browns’ final seven games last season, finishing 3‑4 but delivering wins against division rivals Pittsburgh and Cincinnati. His offseason work in Cleveland has strengthened his bond with the team and coaching staff, fueling optimism for his development.

Monken’s Influence

New head coach Todd Monken has made an immediate impact. Sanders praised the staff for pushing players while also connecting with them personally. Their relationship began with Monken joking about wanting to draft Sanders in Baltimore, and it has since grown into mutual respect.

Competition Ahead

Watson is returning from an Achilles injury, while rookie Dillon Gabriel also remains in the mix. Monken emphasized that reps will rotate daily, keeping the battle open. For now, Sanders is seizing the opportunity to prove he belongs at the front of the line.

What It Means

With two first‑round picks in the upcoming NFL draft, Cleveland’s future is being shaped quickly. Sanders’ emergence adds intrigue to the quarterback situation, giving the Browns options and energy as they prepare for the season.
