The Netherlands concluded the group stage in style, cruising to a 3-1 victory over an already-eliminated Tunisia at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City to finish atop Group F at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
It was a night that summed up Tunisia’s terrible tournament in three minutes. Denzel Dumfries crossed in front of the goal and Tunisian captain Ellyes Skhiri tried to palm it away to clear it but only succeeded in sending it into his own net. The Eagles of Carthage were on the back foot before they settled.

Brian Brobbey scored his third goal of the tournament in the seventh minute to make it 2-0 and give the Dutch side a strong grip on the game.
Tunisia fought back after half-time. Hazem Mastouri scored a consolation goal in the 54th minute, heading in a corner kick to briefly give the Kansas City crowd something to cheer about. But the Netherlands had the clinical answer. A header from Jan Paul van Hecke from a corner deflected off the head of Anis Slimane into his own net in the 62nd minute to restore the two-goal lead and terminate the contest.
A drizzle in the first half had turned into a rain in the second but the Dutch were untroubled, playing the game with poise as Tunisia chased shadows.
Tunisia, who had dismissed coach Sabri Lamouchi following the crushing initial defeat, were already out of the running going into the match. This loss means they are now six games without a win.

The feeling in the Netherlands is one of real momentum as Ronald Koeman’s team, per ESPN, will now face Group C runners-up Morocco in the Round of 32, while Japan — who drew 1-1 with Sweden — have the daunting task of playing Brazil.
