Kansas City Chiefs rookie wide receiver Cyrus Allen escapes serious injury with medical test showing he had a bruise in his shin after Saturday’s training camp session
One of the early stars of the Chiefs’ preseason, Allen was taken off following a collision with cornerback Kaiir Elam during a special teams practice.

The Cincinnati fifth-round selection had trouble putting weight on his left leg after the accident, causing initial concern that the injury could be serious.
Tests however showed Allen did not have any torn ligaments or fractured bones which is a huge relief for Kansas City.
The 23-year-old started camp on a strong note, earning accolades from head coach Andy Reid after catching five passes from Patrick Mahomes in Friday’s 11-on-11 session, per ESPN
His early performances put him squarely in the mix for a potential spot in the Chiefs’ receiving rotation.
The Chiefs also lost second-year wide receiver Xavier Worthy to a shoulder injury in practice. Latest reports say Worthy is also okay, relieving worries about another key part of Kansas City’s offensive.
The Chiefs will monitor the status of both players as they proceed through training camp.
