The Seattle Seahawks are adding a new piece to their running back roaster, signing TJ Harden to a one-year deal after he was cut by the Cleveland Browns earlier this week

ESPN’s Ian Rapoport broke the news to the media on Wednesday
Harden joined Cleveland as an undrafted free agent out of SMU in May after going unselected in the 2026 draft.
He never found a place in a crowded Cleveland backfield that also included Quinshon Judkins and Dylan Sampson and was waived this week when the Browns cleared place for defensive tackle Travis Bell.
Harden played three years at UCLA before moving to SMU for his final year of college. Over four college seasons, he had 495 carries for 2,445 rushing yards and 21 touchdowns, and added 82 catches for 622 yards
His best season was in 2025 at SMU, as he led the Mustangs with 171 carries for 787 yards and nine touchdowns.
Seattle has had its own concerns at running back lately, waiving Kenny McIntosh and placing Zach Charbonnet on the physically unable to perform list. Now Harden has a chance to carve out his role in a new backfield.
