The Situation with Maxx Crosby – Trade or Not?

One developing story in the NFL trade space is the situation of Las Vegas Raiders defensive end, Maxx Crosby.

According to CBS, the Raiders have not shown interest in negotiating a deal with Crossby during the off-season, but teams believe that this is due to the fact that the Raiders want a a massive, blockbuster deal – the Micah Parsons-type trade, to facilitate the deal.

It is very unlikely that the Raiders will get two first-rounders with a young player for Crosby, but there are teams willing to give up a first-round pick and then picks that offer something close to that.

Sources indicate that the Chicago Bears are one team to look out for, in a deal for Crosby. The Dallas Cowboys are also in the mix, and would be likely to get a deal.

It remains unclear whether Crosby will play in 2026 under his current Raiders contract.

11 months ago, Crosby signed a three-year extension worth $109.5 million, which made him the highest-paid pass rusher in the league, and now, Crosby’s $35.5 million average annual value contract is more than $10 million below the top of the market.

However, if Crosby was to play in this upcoming season on his current deal, it means that the Raiders would now have negotiating power, but is Crosby were to demand a raise, that would lessen the compensation. CBS however reports that the former is the most likely.

The 28-year-old Crosby has 68 tackles for loss over the last three seasons, which is the second-most in the NFL.
