Philadelphia 76ers Hold Off Utah

The Philadelphia 76ers secured a hard-fought 106-102 victory over the Utah Jazz, thanks to Quentin Grimes’ clutch free throws in the final seconds. Despite missing stars Joel Embiid, VJ Edgecombe, and suspended Paul George, the 76ers showed resilience to notch another important win in the Eastern Conference playoff race.

Grimes and Maxey Lead Short-Handed 76ers

Philadelphia relied on balanced scoring to overcome their roster challenges:

  • Tyrese Maxey led the team with 25 points.
  • Jabari Walker added 22 points.
  • Quentin Grimes finished with 16 points, including the decisive free throws.
  • Adem Bona’s dunk tied the game late, setting up Grimes’ heroics.

The 76ers improved their standing in the East, proving they can compete even without their top stars.

Jazz Drop Seventh Straight

The Utah Jazz (loss No. 7 in a row) continued their struggles despite a strong performance from Keyonte George, who scored 30 points. Rookie Ace Bailey added 12 points, but Utah’s late-game execution faltered.

  • The Jazz missed six straight shots in crunch time.
  • Isaiah Collier’s layup briefly gave them the lead, but they couldn’t close it out.
  • Kyle Filipowski’s wide-open three in the final seconds missed, sealing their fate.

Injury Concerns for Both Teams

Philadelphia was without Joel Embiid due to an oblique strain and VJ Edgecombe (back contusion). Utah also missed several key players, including Lauri Markkanen, Walker Kessler, and Jaren Jackson Jr., all sidelined with various injuries.

What’s Next

The 76ers travel to face the Atlanta Hawks on Saturday, while the Uttah Jazz visit the Washington Wizards on Thursday.
