Shai Gilgeous-Alexander powered the Oklahoma City Thunder to a 104-97 victory over the Golden State Warriors on Saturday night.

He scored 27 points and extending his streak of consecutive 20-point games to 125. Despite shooting just 6-of-15 from the field, the All-Star guard showcased his efficiency at the free-throw line, converting 14 of 15 attempts. With this performance, he is now one game away from tying Wilt Chamberlain’s legendary record of 126 straight games with at least 20 points.

Thunder Stay Hot Behind Balanced Effort

The Thunder have been unstoppable since Gilgeous-Alexander’s return from an abdominal strain, winning five straight and becoming the first team in the league to reach 50 victories this season. Isaiah Joe chipped in 18 points, while Jaylin Williams anchored the paint with nine points and 14 rebounds. Oklahoma City’s depth proved crucial, especially with starters Chet Holmgren, Jalen Williams, and Isaiah Hartenstein sidelined.

Warriors Struggle Without Curry

Golden State battled hard but couldn’t overcome the absence of Stephen Curry, who missed his 13th consecutive game with a right knee injury. Gui Santos led the Warriors with 22 points and 11 rebounds, while Brandin Podziemski added 17 and Draymond Green contributed 16. However, the Warriors shot just 40.9% from the floor, a key factor in their defeat.

Key Moments in the Game

Oklahoma City built a 67-54 halftime lead behind strong contributions from Kenrich Williams and Gilgeous-Alexander. The Warriors rallied in the third quarter, tying the game at 77 on a Malevy Leons three-pointer. Yet, the Thunder regained control, entering the final period ahead 86-83. With the score tight late, Gilgeous-Alexander drilled a clutch three-pointer over Green with 42.4 seconds left, sealing the win.

What’s Next

The Warriors will look to regroup when they visit the Utah Jazz on Monday. Meanwhile, the Thunder return home to face the Denver Nuggets, where Gilgeous-Alexander will have the chance to tie Chamberlain’s historic scoring streak.
