Draymond Green will be returning to the Golden State Warriors after agreeing to terms on a one-year, $27.7 million contract, Yankee Scores reports.

According to ESPN, Green’s agent and the CEO of Klutch Sports, Rich Paul, announced the news.

The 33-year-old Green turned down his $27.6 million player option earlier this summer.

The move came as a shock right before the start of the free agency period. At that time, Golden State was considered to be a contender to attract LeBron James.

However, the latter opted to go for Philadelphia 76ers, which forced the two parties to come to terms for a new one-year deal.

According to ESPN, Green’s new contract with Golden State doesn’t contain a no-trade clause.

Green played for Golden State Warriors for 14 seasons and now he has the second-longest tenure with one team in the NBA behind his teammate Stephen Curry, who is going to play his 18th season with the same club in October.

In February, it was rumored that Green was a part of the Warriors’ trades talks with the Milwaukee Bucks for Giannis Antetokounmpo, making the player feel uncomfortable.

“You know, I am human being,” Green shared with ESPN in March. “There was a second of me [at the deadline] that felt like, ‘Damn, they really going to do that to me?’ But I understand this business probably [as] good as any player. Like, yo, this is Giannis Antetokounmpo. They not just about to trade me for a bag of peanuts.”

Warriors decided not to make any deals for Giannis Antetokounmpo. The team did not participate in the negotiations with him this summer, and Green still remains a rotation player. The player played 27.5 minutes on average in 68 games last season and showed readiness to join the bench rotation.
