Stephen Curry will officially return to the Golden State Warriors lineup this Sunday. Yankee Scores reports

The Return: Stephen Curry Cleared for Sunday

After two successful scrimmages, league sources told Yankee Scores that the Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry should be able to officially return to the lineup on Sunday. He has missed the last 27 games because of a persistent right knee problem.

Curry thought this absence would be shorter than it turned out to be. He left the Warriors’ game against the Detroit Pistons on January 30 because his right knee hurt and swelled up. Since then, he has had a lot of problems trying to work more in order to get back on the floor.

But the knee has been doing well for the past few weeks, and Stephen Curry played in two 5-on-5 scrimmages this week at the team’s San Francisco facility. He has passed all of the medical tests he needed to. He will practice with the team on Saturday and is expected to play against the Houston Rockets on Sunday.

Play-In Pressure: Warriors Struggle Without Curry

This season, the Warriors are 23-16 with Curry on the floor, but they are 13-25 in the 38 games he has missed. With a record of 36-41, they are in 10th place in the Western Conference. This means they will have to win two play-in games in mid-April to get into the playoffs as the eighth seed and face the Oklahoma City Thunder in the first round.

Curry’s co-star, Jimmy Butler, tore his ACL in January, which made it seem like a lost cause. But Curry has stayed motivated behind the scenes to work his way back and return in time to give the franchise a boost in spirit to close out a turbulent season, even though their hopes of winning the championship are unrealistic.
