The three-time Super Bowl champion, Travis Kelce, has added another milestone to his portfolio, Yankee Scores reports.
The Cleveland Heights native bought a small share of David Blitzer’s 35% stake. David can now become the controlling owner after the 2027 season or can wait to exercise that option later.
The Cleveland Guardian announced the purchase by the Kansas City Chiefs tight end before their game against the Washington Nationals.
“The opportunity came across my desk and I just couldn’t say no,” Kelce said on the “New Heights” podcast with his brother, Jason Kelce. “These guys (Blitzer and majority owner Paul Dolan) gave me the opportunity to show my Cleveland love and plant my roots in Cleveland forever, no matter what. It’s an awesome feeling knowing that a childhood kid that grew up on the east side is now part owner of his favorite baseball team.”
Kelce played football, basketball and baseball while at Cleveland Heights High School. He also played on a collegiate summer team in 2010 while attending the University of Cincinnati.

Travis Kelce as part of the Guardian will throw the first pitch on June 14 against the Detroit Tigers. He once tried to throw the first pitch during the 2023 home opener against Seattle but threw a ball that spiked near the plate and skipped to the backstop.
Guardian manager Stephen Vogt who is a die-hard San Francisco 49ers fan was the most thrilled to hear about Kelce joining the organization.

Kelce joins Mahomes as the second member of the Chiefs to have a stake in a baseball team.
