Another blow for the Eagles’ backfield. Running back Will Shipley suffered a partial tear of his plantar fascia in Sunday’s loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars, and it could sideline him for multiple weeks, a source told ESPN’s Adam Schefter on Monday.
Philadelphia was already short at the position. Starter Saquon Barkley is dealing with a hamstring injury, and primary backup Tank Bigsby is on injured reserve after core muscle surgery. That meant Shipley got the start in London on Sunday.
He scored his first career touchdown but left late in the first quarter.

Dameon Pierce took over as the main back after that, with Carson Steele behind him. It was not much of a day on the ground. The Eagles ran for just 22 yards on 18 attempts, 1.2 yards a carry, in the 19-17 loss.
Pierce led the way with 14 yards on 11 carries, Shipley had 6 yards on five, and quarterback Jalen Hurts added two yards on two.
At 2-3, the Eagles host the Carolina Panthers (2-2) in Week 6.
