Cherki and Savinho celebrate Man City win over Crystal Palace

A Phil Foden masterclass and goals from Antoine Semenyo, Omar Marmoush, and Savinho ensured Pep Guardiola’s side remains within striking distance of Arsenal as the title race enters its final dramatic fortnight; Yankee Scores reports.

Manchester City’s rejuvenated side kept the title chase alive for at least one more week with a calm 3-0 victory over Crystal Palace.

Premier League Standings

Guardiola’s men still trail Arsenal by two points with two matches left in the season, but even if the Gunners finish unbeaten from here until May 24, City can’t catch them. City lost their cushion following a draw against Everton last week.

However, should Arsenal falter in either match against Burnley at home or Crystal Palace on the final weekend, there will be an opportunity for City to capitalize. This would be a first for any top-flight club to overcome a five-point deficit in May to win the title.

With two emphatic wins, 3-0 each time, City’s latest outings indicate they are far from done dreaming about doing so. The way Guardiola punched the air after each goal suggested he is not yet ready to give up on their dreams.

Foden Masterclass Ignites Title Chase

Phil Foden, who always finds himself in the shadows of stars like Kevin De Bruyne and Riyad Mahrez, certainly made a good case in point, setting up Antoine Semenyo for two of the goals and giving City an early cushion they didn’t relinquish.

The first was a perfect case of sheer genius by Foden, one that brought back memories of that incredible season in which City won the title for the first time since 2023/24. It was a smart play by the midfielder, his deft flick releasing Semenyo who put it past Dean Henderson for the first goal of the match.

It was Phil Foden’s other assist that found Omar Marmoush, his header putting the score at 2-0 and securing City’s win in a comfortable fashion.

Guardiola Focuses on FA Cup Final Clash Against Chelsea

In preparation for upcoming finals, both teams switched things up in the second half. Manchester City is set to play against Chelsea in the final of the FA Cup in three days’ time, whereas Palace will be going up against the winners of a match between West Bromwich Albion and Bournemouth on June 30th.

Neither team wanted to exhaust themselves in a half that was more of a procession than anything else until Rayan Cherki provided the perfect finishing touch to an already beautiful move by finding Savinho who scored a third.
