Pep Guardiola, aged 55, announced to step down last week following a 10 year-tenure laden with 20 trophies.
The Global Icon’s Salute
Jordan, one of the NBA’s all-time greats, and City’s former captain Vincent Kompany were attendees at the Guardiola’s send-forth at Co-Op Live arena.
The farewell party was attended by 19,000 supporters.
“I just wanted to congratulate you on an unbelievable career,” said Chicago Bulls legend Jordan via a video message played on the big screen inside the venue.

Cross-Sport Admiration
The party brought together superstars across different sports particularly the sport he loves
Guardiola is a basketball fan and a golf enthusiast: “Enjoy your retirement. Good luck on the links and keep them straight. Congratulations,” Jordan added.
Tributes Galore
British golfer Tommy Fleetwood in a video message congratulated Pep for his legendary coaching career. “You deserve whatever you are about to do next.

“It is an honor to call you a friend and congratulations. You have been amazing.”
Fellow manager Neil Warnock expressed his bewilderment at Pep’s exit at Man City and wishes him the best of luck.
“I can’t quite believe you are leaving. I have seen off so many managers but you are top of the pile. “The best manager I have ever seen.”
Despite winning a domestic double last season, he couldn’t stop the Gunners from winning their league title in 22 years. His final ended in a 2-1 loss against Aston Villa, a match that saw him shed tears.
