Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk is back playing competitive football after the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) partially upheld his appeal against an anti-doping verdict from the Football Association, ending a long time out of action.

The result means the Ukrainian international can return to action immediately, albeit some of the original disciplinary penalty is upheld.
Mudryk was provisionally suspended in December 2024 for use of the prohibited drug, meldonium following international duty with Ukraine, according to BBC
He was later banned for four years by the FA but the 25-year-old appealed to CAS, saying he had never intentionally ingested any banned chemical.
The detailed legal reasons for the CAS decision has yet to be revealed but the result means Mudryk can now resume his professional career after over 20 months without competitive action.
Chelsea were happy with the outcome and the club is likely to check on Mudryk’s fitness before bringing him back into first-team training and matchday squads.
