Carlos Alcaraz will play his first tournament after a four-month absence due to a wrist injury at the US Open.
The Spaniard won at the Australian Open earlier this year and became the youngest man to claim all four Grand Slams.
But the world number two has not played any official match since 14 April when he injured his right wrist at the Barcelona Open.

Fabrizio Romano, a famous football influencer, confirmed this piece of news via a joint post on Instagram with Alcaraz.

Seven-time major winner Alcaraz used “Here we go!” – Romano’s trademark phrase – in a tweet on X, external accompanied by a picture of the American flag and a plane.
Apart from taking part in singles, Alcaraz could also take part in mixed doubles which takes place a week before the US Open, as there are still three wildcards to be awarded.
Alcaraz took part in the revamped tournament last year partnering with British player Emma Raducanu who will miss this year’s event due to an injury.
Rankings Shift
World number two spot has been taken by Alexander Zverev, as Alcaraz has been unable to defend his Cincinnati Open title.
Alcaraz’s opponent, Jannik Sinner, tops the rankings and has already won Wimbledon earlier in July, while Zverev claimed the French Open title and was the runner-up at SW19.
As he did at Wimbledon, Sinner will play the US Open without any hard court experience since he withdrew from the Cincinnati Open because of a knee injury.
The US Open singles tournament kicks off in New York on Sunday, 30 August.
