A Career Cut Short

Drafted in the fifth round by the New York Giants in 2020, Lemieux showed promise as a rookie. He appeared in 12 games before a knee injury in 2021, which derailed his second season. He later spent time with the New Orleans Saints and the Seattle Seahawks, but repeated surgeries kept him from reaching his full potential.

The Retirement Decision

At just 28 years old, after six NFL seasons, Lemieux has decided to call it quit. He shared the news on LinkedIn explaining that five surgeries and countless hours in the training room changed his perspective on the game. While he dreamed of a decade‑long career, he chose to step away with his health intact.

Lessons Beyond Football

Lemieux emphasized that the relationships and lessons learned through adversity mean more than accolades. His words reflected gratitude for the sport, while also signaling readiness to pursue life beyond football.

College Legacy

Before the NFL, Lemieux was a standout at Oregon. He earned All‑American honors and started 52 consecutive games at left guard, cementing his reputation as one of the Ducks’ iron men. His college career remains a bright chapter in his football journey.

Looking Ahead

Though his professional career ended sooner than expected, Lemieux leaves behind a story of resilience and determination. Fans and teammates alike are wishing him success as he begins the next chapter of his life outside the gridiron.
