The Houston Rockets just stunned the Lakers at the Staples Center to force a Game 6. Yankee Scores has all the details for the Friday showdown!

The Rockets are optimistic after defeating the Lakers 99-93 at the Staples Center in Game 5 of the best-of-seven series, which will continue for another round at least.

Lakers’ Struggle Continues

Austin Reaves made his return in the starting lineup after missing seven games due to left oblique strain. Yet, the Lakers struggled to score in the second consecutive game and for 2 1/2 games, counting their remarkable comeback win in Houston in Game 3.

The Rockets, despite playing defensively, need two more wins to achieve something that has never been done in the NBA.

Chasing the Impossible

Despite falling behind in double digits during the opening period, Rockets made a successful comeback to claim Game 5 99-93 at Los Angeles, forcing another matchup between the two teams, where the Rockets were leading the series 3-0. No team has won a comeback after losing in the first three matches in the history of the NBA, and the Rockets will give their best effort again on Friday.

Reaves contributed 22 points, 6 assists, and 4 rebounds in 34 minutes of action in his first appearance since he sustained a Grade oblique strain in the 116-114 loss against the Thunder on April 2.

Lebron Misses Late

The Lakers’ best player LeBron James contributed 25 points and 7 rebounds. Nevertheless, he agonizingly missed a clutch pull-up three-pointer with 12 seconds left in the game that would have reduced their lead to one point.

DeAndre Ayton contributed 18 points and 17 rebounds.

Jabari Smith Shines

Houston Rockets’ young star Jabari Smith scored 22 points, collected 7 rebounds, provided 3 assists, and blocked two shots.
