The football world will witness a rare family thread at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, as eight brothers are set to feature in the competition.
While some will play for the same team, others will see themselves on opposite sides in one of the extraordinary stories of the World Cup.

The Doue brothers will play at the global showpiece, with Desire representing France and Guela featuring for the African side, the Ivory Coast.
The biggest split-names are the William brothers, even though both play for Athletic Club in the Spanish La Liga.
Inaki chose to represent the Black Stars of Ghana, while Nico will feature for former Champions Spain, where he already has 30 international caps.
Dutch forward Brian Brobbey and Ghana defender Derric Luckassen are brothers and they will represent the different nations at the Mundial.
Completing the split nationality group are the Souttars. While Harry plays for Leicester City and the Australian national team, John features for Rangers and Scotland.
Playing for the same country are Theo Hernandez and Lucas Hernandez, who have both decided to represent France.
Quinten Timber plays in the defensive position for the Netherlands, while his brother Jurrien stars in the midfield for the Dutch national team.
Two other brothers Juninho and Leandro will be part of the Curacao squad to the World Cup.
