France manager Didier Deschamps has weighed in on Real Madrid’s interest in Michael Olise amidst Bayern Munich’s stance that the forward is not for sale.
In an interview with Spanish newspaper Marca, Deschamps claims Olise deserves the plaudits he is receiving from every quarter and the attention he is getting from Real Madrid.
“I had seen him before Thierry Henry selected him for the Olympic Games, where he did very, very good things. With us it was a bit difficult, hard work at first. He is coming off an excellent season in terms of efficiency, with his character and personality. He is rather someone discreet, a bit shy, but when he is on the field, he is magnificent,” he points out.

“I’m very happy for him, but the credit is above all his. Nowadays he is someone radiant and among the best players in the world, but media exposure is not really his thing, as they say. What matters is the pitch; afterwards, he has his life, but he has had a magnificent rise,” he adds.
However, Les Blues manager believes it is up to Olise to decide whether to stay put at Bayern or seek move elsewhere.
“He will know very well whether he stays at Bayern Munich or whether he needs a change of scenery. There is no right or wrong choice. Obviously, if I put myself in Kompany’s or the Bayern president’s shoes, having him on their team and having him stay at Bayern would be something very, very good.
“I imagine he may also receive offers from other clubs. I am not worried by the fact that what he does with Bayern or what he does with the French national team could also be reproduced at other clubs. But if I say that, it does not benefit Bayern,” he concludes.
Floretino Pérez To Launch An Audacious Bid
If Real Madrid president Floretino Pérez is re-elected, Real Madrid will launch a €150m bid for Michael Olise. However, Bayern Munich has responded to Real’s interest, insisting no amount can snatch the French forward from their grip.
