Arizona Cardinals director of college scouting Ryan Gold is fighting an indefinite suspension with his lawyer saying the NFL’s claims about its gambling policy are “blatantly false.”
NFL now has confirmed the indefinite suspension of Cardinals personnel executive Ryan Gold for violating the league’s gambling policy.

The league suspended Gold indefinitely on Friday after an investigation found he shared confidential, non-public information about the Cardinals’ 2026 draft picks before they were announced, and that he placed parlay bets on NFL and college games.
But the league did not identify the person with whom Gold allegedly shared the information.
Gold’s attorney, Mike Caspino, told ESPN’s Adam Schefter on Sunday that Gold plans to appeal. “Ryan Gold has been a great NFL executive for over a decade. His involvement in illegal gambling activities, as alleged by the league, is patently false”
Caspino said that Gold couldn’t have revealed draft-pick information that he didn’t know, because only owner Michael Bidwill and general manager Monti Ossenfort knew who the team was targeting.
The Cardinals fully cooperated in the investigation, which included interviews and review of electronic records.
The league also said there was no evidence any game or play was compromised and no indication any of the other members of the organization knew or were involved in the activity.
Gold, who was elevated from assistant director of college scouting to director of college scouting in June 2025, is in his 13th season with Arizona. His suspension will continue, pending the outcome of his appeal.
