Warning Signs
Family members had voiced concerns before the homicide, according to court and police records.
Ciarre Campbell’s sister called the police in April after her brother allegedly set a fire in the residence to “rid the house of the demons.”
Nateal Campbell told an officer her son had stopped taking medicine recommended for schizophrenia and neighbors had contacted police many times to report disruptions, according to a report.
Ciarre Campbell’s attorney said his client continues to assert his innocence and begged that the family be left alone while the investigation goes forward.
