The petition filed by the ex-wife of Luca Doncic, Anamaria Goltes for child support has been withdrawn.
The petition filed in March, according to sources familiar with the case quoted by ESPN, needed Goltes to file her responsive pleading before Aug. 14 when the hearing will take place.
“I am withdrawing my petition for child support with the specific intention of resolving this matter amicably and by a mutual agreement which is in the best interests of our children,” Goltes stated in the responsive plea, which was first obtained by TMZ.
Goltes, mother of Doncic’s two daughters, Gabriela aged two and Olivia aged seven months, who lives with her daughters in Slovenia, filed her petition in California earlier this year.
Doncic filed for interim injunction in Slovenian courts in February for immediate access to his daughters, Gabriela and Olivia and for joint custody and child support.
Sources familiar with the case on Monday informed ESPN that the custody issue between Doncic and Goltes is still under resolution and jurisdiction of the Slovenian courts.
Doncic, 27, declared at the end of LA Lakers’ season in May that he wanted to spend summer in Slovenia with his children and hence decided to opt out from participating in the FIBA World Cup European qualifying games along with his national team.
To extend his stay in Slovenia prior to the next season of the NBA league, Luka has invited the whole Los Angeles Lakers team to spend some time in Ljubljana at a four-day minicamp, held Aug. 20-24, a source close to the Lakers told ESPN last week.
