Lamelo ball with Charlotte Hornets

The Charlotte Hornets lit up the night with a dazzling shooting display, leaving fans buzzing about their record‑tying performance… Yankee Scores reports.

Hornets Tie Franchise Record With 26 Threes

Coby White was electric, draining six of Charlotte’s franchise‑tying 26 three‑pointers and finishing with 27 points in a 134‑90 blowout win over the Sacramento Kings on Tuesday night. The victory marked the Hornets’ fourth straight win and pulled them within two games of the Atlanta Hawks for sixth place in the Eastern Conference.

LaMelo Ball added 20 points, also hitting six threes, while Moussa Diabate chipped in 17 points and 11 rebounds. Rookie Kon Knueppel knocked down four triples, moving into second place in franchise history for threes made in a season with 247. He now needs just 14 more to surpass Kemba Walker, who currently serves as a player enhancement coach with Charlotte.

Kings Struggle Despite Monk’s Career Night

Sacramento’s Daeqwon Plowden scored 22 points, and former Hornet Malik Monk dished out a career‑high 14 assists. Still, the Kings (19‑54) offered little defensive resistance, allowing Charlotte to shoot 51% from the field and dominate the glass with a 57‑35 rebounding edge.

Charlotte raced to a 72‑47 halftime lead, fueled by 13 made threes in the first half. Ball dazzled with his creativity — hitting shots off one foot, delivering no‑look passes, and outjumping opponents for rebounds. The Hornets pushed their lead to 46 early in the fourth quarter, leaving the Kings searching for answers.

Record Within Reach

The Hornets had a chance to break the franchise record for threes in a game late, but rookie center Ryan Kalbrenner misfired from the corner. The 26 threes matched the mark set on March 14, 2025, against San Antonio.

Up next, the Kings travel to Orlando on Thursday night, while the Hornets return home to host the New York Knicks.
