The Indianapolis Colts just locked up the engine of their offense as Jonathan Taylor and the team agreed on a two-year agreement worth $44 million, with a peak value of $47 million and $39 million guaranteed.

The deal, reached through his agent Malki Kawa of First Round Management, retains the three-time Pro Bowler in Indianapolis through the 2028 season, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter and NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
Back in 2023, Taylor’s contract war with the Colts became heated but this time was different asTaylor made it clear all offseason he wanted to stay put, telling reporters in June he’d love to be a Colt for life.
Just two days earlier, Bijan Robinson reset the running back position with a record $75 million agreement in Atlanta.
Taylor’s $22 million per year comes just behind Robinson’s $22.25 million average, making it the third-largest running back contract in league history. The agreement honors a player who’s been practically unstoppable the last two seasons.
Taylor ran for 1,585 yards in 2025, leading the NFL in carries, rushing touchdowns, and rushing first downs.
