If there is a player that looks like he will write the next chapter of the NBA, it is Victor Wembanyama.
The San Antonio Spurs superstar continued his strong start to his career, winning the Defensive Player of the Year award unanimously, as well as first-team All-NBA honors.
In the NBA Finals, he averaged 26 points, 11.2 rebounds and 3.6 blocks and finished third in MVP voting.
Wembanyama, at just 22, has the resumé and two-way influence of a franchise-defining superstar.

Edwards ready to shine
Anthony Edwards has similarly emerged as one of the league’s most recognizable young stars.
His scoring, confidence and competitive edge have made him a perfect choice for the face of the NBA.
His performance in the 2026 All-Star Game was a sign of his progression. Edwards was named All-Star MVP and received the Kobe Bryant Trophy after guiding the USA Stars to the title in the new US vs World format.
Edwards is just 24, still has a lot of time to improve and might be Wembanyama’s strongest rival for the next generation of NBA supremacy.

Flagg arrives to high expectations
Cooper Flagg didn’t take long to announce his presence as a future superstar.
The Dallas Mavericks forward edged Charlotte’s Kon Knueppel in a tight vote to win the 2026 Rookie of the Year award after an impressive first campaign.
Flagg’s size, versatility and defensive abilities make him a potential franchise cornerstone for Dallas for years to come.
The future is now
Wembanyama might have the best case to be the next defining NBA star right now, but Edwards and Flagg are right there with him.
The likes of Paolo Banchero, Cade Cunningham and Chet Holmgren also emerging into great talents means the future of the league is looking incredibly bright.
