The Oklahoma City Thunder grabbed a slim 129-126 win over the Denver Nuggets on Monday night, Yankee Scores Reports.

Shai Gilgeous Alexander turned out to be the hero for the Oklahoma City Thunder, as his late three-pointer was the winner for the Thunder, against the Denver Nuggets. Just two days after proving instrumental against the Warriors.

Tonight’s game was the third of four meetings between these two teams this season. The last time these two sides met, Shai Gilgeous Alexander dropped 36 points for the Thunder, helping them to a 127-121 victory.

The Nuggets were 6-9 in their last 15 games, and had fallen to sixth in the Western Conference.

Nicolas Jokic has continued to be a strong threat for the Nuggets, despite missing 16 games with a knee injury. He averaged 28.8 points per games, and led the league in assists and rebounds per game, coming into this encounter.

The Nuggets took a 40-37 lead after the first quarter, with Aaron Gordon making 19 of those.

In the second quarter, the Thunder fought back to take the game to 66-60 with Ajay Mitchell, Isaiah Joe and Shai Gilgeous proving decisive.

This lead was cut to three points as the Nuggets fought hard, but the third quarter ended 96-93 in favour of the Thunder.

The final quarter was tense and fiesty, as both sides fought hard for the points.

It was all square [126-126] towards the end of the fourth quarter as Nicola Jokic netted a three pointer, and Jamal Murray scored a free throw, but Shai Gilgeous Alexander stepped back and hit a three pointer to seal the win for the Thunder, with two seconds on the clock.

Shai put in another stunning performance for the Nuggets, netting 35 points and 15 assists – a Career high record, while also making 9 rebounds and 2 blocks.

Nikola Jokic hit 32 points for the Nuggets, but it wasn’t enough to get them the win.

Jaylin Williams [29], Tim Hardaway Jr. [28] , and Ajay Mitchell [24] completed the top five for most points in the game.

Tonight’s game is the 126th consecutive game that Shai Gilgeous Alexander has hit a 20 points, tying Wilt Chamberlain’s record.

One more 20-point game could mean that Shai makes history as the player with the most consecutive 20 point games in NBA history.
